WHAT IS COACHING?

Coaching is a one-on-one relationship in which the goal is to actively work on specific areas in your life that you feel led to improve in. Through the use of thoughtful questions, active listening, and sometimes silence, the coach creates a space where you can verbally process your thoughts and ideas, leading you to see different perspectives and solutions that you may not have seen before. Once you gain clarity on steps that need to be taken, coaching provides accountability and encouragement to stay on track as you make progress toward a better future.

WHAT IS MY APPROACH TO COACHING?

~As a Christian life coach, I operate under the belief that the Holy Spirit continuously works in the lives of those who follow Him and shows us areas that we need to address to live a successful life.

John 16:13 "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth."


~Our insights and conclusions do not come from our own knowledge, but are revealed to us as we seek out answers from God and His Word.

2 Corinthians 3:5 “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”


~I encourage my clients to use the resources of prayer, guidance from the Holy Spirit, and Scripture reading as they grow and progress.


~We find in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 that relational support is beneficial and yields greater results than if we try to accomplish something on our own. “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.”

HOW IS COACHING DIFFERENT FROM MENTORING, COUNSELING, OR THERAPY?

A mentor or counselor might share wisdom or advice from their own experiences or knowledge, providing advice or solutions for you. However, the role of the coach is to create a space for the client to discover their own answers and plan of action, resulting in greater buy-in, motivation, and results.

Coaching is focused on taking responsibility for what you can do at this moment and moving forward, ensuring that you make measurable progress from one session to the next.

Coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders and is not to be used as a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care, substance abuse treatment, or other professional advice by legal, medical or other qualified professionals.
