MY STORY

I was born and raised in Hawaii, where I grew up in a Christian family, surrounded by countless "aunties and uncles" who loved, invested in, and taught me so many valuable things about living a life of service to Jesus and others. I accepted Jesus Christ at a young age, and began my (windy and bumpy) journey to becoming more and more like Christ every day. I spent my summers camping at the beach with our church family, and working in the office with my mom, who was the bookkeeper of our small Christian school.

 

In 2005, I graduated from high school and couldn’t wait to go to the “mainland”! I attended college in South Carolina, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and, more importantly, met my husband, Royden. Royden was born and raised as a missionary kid in Haiti, and planned to return and serve alongside his parents. We got married in 2008, and left for Haiti just days after graduating in 2009. We now have two beautiful boys, who are wild and crazy, but so much fun.

 

I definitely would not say it has been an easy or smooth transition adjusting to the culture, language, and lifestyle in Haiti. I’ve struggled with learning how to communicate with, serve, and live alongside people that have completely different backgrounds and mindsets than my own. I have made so many mistakes along the way. But I have always found comfort in the fact that when I am weak, He is strong. And through His grace, I can also be strong enough to take the next step, and the next step, and the next step after that. 2 Cor. 12:9

 

I discovered coaching in 2019, and it has changed my life. By working with a coach, I have been able to recognize specific areas in my life that have kept me from serving the Lord & those around me well. The progress I have made has given me clarity in my calling and peace as I embrace the opportunities that God puts in my path. My hope is to use the skills and techniques I am learning to encourage and help other women achieve victory over their struggles. I received my coach training from Professional Christian Coaching Institute and Coaching Mission International, where I received my Advanced Life Coach certification. I am also an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
